Eine Studie zur Situation von Residenzhäusern und Künstlern mit ihren Erwartungen und Erfahrungen
Liebe Kollegen und Interessierte,
die Initiative „PAiR-Performing Arts in Residence“ wurde im September 2010 von schloss bröllin e.V gemeinsam mit internationalen Partnern ins Leben gerufen. Ziel der Initiative ist es, den sich verändernden Produktionsbedingungen im Bereich der Darstellenden Künste Rechnung zu tragen. Angesichts wachsender Mobilität, international zusammengesetzter Ensembles und neuer künstlerischer Ausdrucksformen, scheint der Bedarf an neuen Produktionsbedingungen zu wachsen.
Aus diesen Gründen sehen die Initiatoren die Notwendigkeit, das Angebot an Residenzen zu vergrößern, Kommunikation und Kooperationen zwischen Residenzhäusern voran zu treiben und Vorschläge für neue Förderstrukturen zu entwickeln.
Die enorme Anzahl der Künstlerhäuser in Deutschland und weltweit trägt den Bedarfen in der Bildenden Kunst, der Musik und Literatur sehr wohl Rechnung, nicht aber den der Darstellenden Künste, welche deutlich unterrepräsentiert sind. Schloss Bröllin blickt auf eine fast 20-jährige Erfahrung mit der Einrichtung und Durchführung eines Residenzprogrammes für die Darstellenden Künste zurück. Die Realität zeigt, dass der Bedarf in den letzten Jahren stark gestiegen ist.
Um die Gründe zu analysieren und gleichzeitig die reale Lage von Künstlerhäusern und den Bedarf der Künstler/innen zu erfassen, führte die Arbeitsgruppe PAiR eine empirische Studie durch, deren erste Ergebnisse hier vorgestellt werden sollen. Die Befragung läuft seit August 2011 mittels Fragebögen, die sich an Künstlerhäuser und Künstler/innen weltweit richten und läuft momentan auch weiter.

A study on the situation of residential houses and artists with their expectations and experiences
Dear colleagues and interested parties,
The initiative "PAiR-Performing Arts in Residence" was launched by Schloss Bröllin together with international partners in September 2010. The aim of the initiative is to provide the changing conditions of production in the performing arts. Faced with growing mobility, international composed ensembles and new forms of artistic expression, the need seems to grow in new conditions of production. For these reasons, the initiators see the need to increase the supply of residences, to promote communication and cooperation between residence houses, and to develop proposals for new funding structures.
The enormous number of artists' houses in Germany and worldwide meets the demand of the visual arts, music and literature very well, but not the performing arts, which are significantly underrepresented. Schloss Bröllin looks back on nearly 20 years of experience in establishing and implementing a residence program for the Performing Arts. The reality is, these specific requirements have risen sharply in recent years.
To analyze the reasons and, at the same time, to grasp the real situation of artists' houses and the needs of artists, an empirical study was conducted by the working group PAiR, whose preliminary results were presented in December 2011. The survey ran from August 2011 through questionnaires, targeted at artists and artists' centers worldwide, and still continues.
